Long life predicted for PCI platform
The new RadiSys Endura SH845GV long life embedded platform based on the Intel 845GV chipset is now available via Wordsworth Technology.
The new RadiSys Endura SH845GV long life embedded platform based on the Intel 845GV chipset is now available via Wordsworth Technology.
The Endura SH845GV is a scalable socket 478 platform delivering high performance with an Intel Pentium 4 processor, while a cost effective, entry-level solution can be achieved with a Celeron processor.
The SH845GV supports both 400 and 533MHz processor front side bus speeds and a maximum of 2Gbyte system memory.
"The Intel 845GV chipset technology was selected from the Intel Embedded Division's long life roadmap, ensuring that the Endura SH845GV will be available at least until the end of 2007", said Nick Coxhead, Technical Director at Wordsworth Technology.
"RadiSys has selected the 2GHz Celeron and the 2.4GHz Pentium 4 processors from Intel's embedded roadmap to be supplied with the SH845GV, ensuring constant availability of the processor even after disappearing from the commercial distribution channels", he continued.
The SH845GV provides six PCI slots, often required in applications such as video surveillance, medical imaging, and gaming, where a large number of peripheral cards are needed.
A Compact Flash socket provides the option for onboard storage, important for ruggedised applications that cannot use hard drives.
In addition, six USB ports and one LAN port are supported.
The Intel 845GV chipset provides Intel Extreme Graphics and an AGP Digital Display (ADD) slot provides the ability to drive either DVI-I monitors, LVDS displays, or TV-out via third party ADD cards.
Additional value-add features provided specifically for use in embedded applications include a watchdog timer, system monitoring, automatic fan-speed control and a 13bit GPIO port.
