Cool CPU embeds in poor airflow applications

The 5.25in Nova-C400 is an all-in-one fanless solution targeted at the embedded and industrial computing market, and uses the ULV Celeron 400MHz processor to minimise power consumption.

The 5.25in Nova-C400 is an all-in-one fanless solution targeted at the embedded and industrial computing market, and uses the ultra low voltage (ULV) Celeron 400MHz processor to minimise power consumption.

The ULV Celeron 400 typically consumes 5W compared with 23W of the standard Celeron 400.

The Celeron processor works with the Via VT8606T (PN133T) north bridge and Via VT82C686B south bridge chipsets.

The VT8606T includes an integrated ProSavage VGA controller and the board supports a 36bit dual channel for LVDS interface to LCD displays (with 50-pin TTL header) and a DB-15 CRT interface connector.

In addition the Nova-C400 supports two Ethernet 10/100Mbit/s LAN ports, a Compact Flash Type II socket, an AC97 compliant audio codec, a watchdog timer, and four inputs and outputs of TTL level digital I/O.

The Nova-C400 also includes an R-232/422/485 port, three RS232 serial ports, and an LPT parallel port (all by pin headers).

In addition there is an IrDA port, two ATA/100 IDE channels, and PS/2 and FDD interfaces.

Finally, there are four USB 2.0 ports (and two further USB1.1 ports by pin header).
