The Rocky C800EV is an all-in-one full size PICMG processor card for mid-range performance and low power applications.

New from Wordsworth Technology, the Rocky C800EV is an all-in-one full size PICMG processor card for mid-range performance and low power applications.

The Rocky-C800EV implements a 1GHz VIA C3 embedded (EBGA package) processor and a VIA 8601A and VIA 686B chipset.

The chipset contains an integrated graphics engine with AGP 4x bus bandwidth up to 533Mbyte/s and uses a DB-15 connector for use with a CRT display.

Up to 1Gbyte of PC133 SDRAM system memory is available in two DIMM sockets.

The board also supports a Disk On Chip socket, a CompactFlash type II socket, and a 10/100Mbit/s Fast Ethernet port (Intel 82559 or Realtek RTL8100 option).

In addition ISA Plus is implemented to enhance the ISAbus drive capability.

A hardware monitor for CPU voltages and CPU/system fan speed and temperature detection is also implemented along with power management meeting ACPI 1.1 specification, a watchdog timer and an AC97 compliant audio codec.

"We are very pleased to be able to offer this new addition to our range of PICMG SBC cards".

"The use of the low power 1GHz VIA C3 processor and wide range of connectivity and storage options, make it a perfect all-in-one solution for many mid-range performance, low power industrial applications", said Nick Coxhead, Technical Director at Wordsworth Technology.

The Rocky-C800 also supports dual RS232 pin headers, an LPT pin header, an IrDA pin header, three USB 1.1 pin headers (one USB 1.1 on bracket), an FDD slot and two ATA-100 IDE channels.

(The power consumption for the VIA C3 800MHz processor version with two banks of 512Mbyte SDRAM running Windows 2000 is 3.8A at +5V and 170mA at +12V, and 180mA at +5V).
