High-performance electromagnetic simulation and optimisation software produced by Zeland Software is now available in the UK.

Available now in the UK from WRL Consultancy is a range of high-performance electromagnetic simulation and optimisation software produced by Zeland Software of California Zeland's software products are powerful tools for the design of RF and microwave printed and integrated circuits, antennas, filters, waveguides, structures, interconnects, packaging, together with EMI and EMC optimisation

Zeland's main products comprise: IE3D - a full-wave EM simulation, optimisation, and synthesis package; Fidelity - a time-domain full 3D EM simulator; and MDSpice - a mixed frequency and time domain Spice simulator.

IE3D is a full-wave, method-of-moments based electromagnetic simulator solving the current distribution on 3D and multilayer structures of general shape.

It has been widely used in the design of MMICs, RFICs, LTCC circuits, microwave/millimetre-wave circuits, IC interconnects and packages, SoP, SiP, HTS circuits and filters, multilayer PCBs, RFID antennas, microstrip antennas, wire antennas and other RF/wireless antennas.

Fidelity is a full-wave and conformal FDTD (finite-difference time-domain) EM simulator for complicated 3D structures of arbitrary shape and materials.

It has a wide range of applications in the design of microwave circuits, RF printed circuits, combline filters, microstrip antennas, horn antennas, slotted-waveguide antennas, wireless/RF antennas, IC packaging, EMC and EMI structures, biomedical effects of EM waves and other high-speed and high-frequency circuitry.

MDSpice is a mixed frequency and time domain Spice simulator containing a time-domain simulation engine and a frequency-domain simulation engine.

The most significant feature of MDSpice is that it can perform robust, accurate, and efficient time-domain simulation based on frequency-domain S-parameters.

It also has a broadband Spice model extraction capability of coupled transmission lines and interconnects.

MDSpice is particularly useful in modelling high-speed digital circuits and high-frequency nonlinear devices.

Despite their sophistication and ease of use, Zeland's software packages are competitively priced compared with similar products elsewhere.

They are also available for lease or monthly rental.

Discounted prices are available for strictly educational users.
