The Xemics XE1218a is a complete SoC solution for small unidirectional wireless headsets.

The Xemics XE1218a is a complete SoC solution, optimised for use in a small unidirectional wireless headset The XE1218a has ultra low power consumption; typically 2.5mA, ensuring prolonged product battery life (the XE1218a can be operated directly from one lithium 1.5V battery cell)

Complete reference license free designs supplied by Xemics enable a fast time to market.

The XE1218a is readily available, and a wireless headset demonstrator measuring just 2 x 2cm will be available in March.

The XE1218a was designed specifically for headset applications.

In particular it is power efficient and compact enough to be housed in a light, small comfortable earpiece.

Having highly integrated architecture the XE1218a requires a minimum of external parts, reducing costs for OEMs further.

The XE1218a enables complete single-chip audio transmission solutions, where the antenna feeds the incoming RF signal directly into the XE1218a and an amplified audio signal can be fed to an earphone from its output.

The XE1218a is a single channel receiver tuneable from 130 to 230MHz.

It has a high reception sensitivity of -100dBm and an SNR of 40dB.
