XtremeDSP Virtex-5 SXT FPGAs are now listed on the PCI-SIG integrator's list.

Xilinx reports that its XtremeDSP Virtex-5 SXT FPGAs have passed the latest PCI Express Endpoint v1.1 base specification compliance workshop and are now listed on the PCI-SIG integrator's list The XtemeDSP Virtex-5 SXT platform is the second Xilinx 65nm FPGA platform to achieve PCI Express v1.1 compliance - the Virtex-5 LXT platform passed the PCI Express v1.1 compliance tests in October 2006

The Virtex-5 SXT FPGA platform, optimised to deliver the industry's highest DSP performance with 352 GMACs at 550MHz, is the first FPGA to integrate 3.2Gbit/s low-power serial transceivers with integrated endpoint blocks for PCI Express and trimode Ethernet MAC blocks.

The proven solution allows system designers to develop PCI Express based applications with confidence and great ease of use.

"Xilinx continues at the forefront of PCI Express technology, one of the most rapidly growing serial interfaces", says Per Holmberg, director of Programmable Digital Systems Marketing at Xilinx.

"Our fully integrated Virtex-5 PCI Express solution provides designers a proven off-the-shelf solution that saves time, reduces power consumption, and frees up valuable FPGA fabric resources".

Xilinx has been delivering the benefits of 65nm Virtex-5 FPGAs since May 2006, and is now shipping 13 devices across three platforms (LX, LXT and SXT).

Xilinx provides complete Virtex-5 PCI Express based solutions, including the PCI Express development kit and protocol pack.
