Like other models in the series, the new power system can be rack mounted, free standing or stacked and incorporates many standard and optional features designed to make it easy to install and easy to use.
Compared with other UPS systems, Xi units are extremely compact and, at 510mm deep, they fit any standard 600 or 800mm cabinets.
Including battery pack, the Xi 1500L CE weighs less than 30kg, which makes it easy to handle.
The new UPS is a 110V input/output system that will accept dual mains input feeds and features auto switchover if one feed fails.
Remote emergency power off is incorporated, making the unit ideal for hazardous environments.
XP Energy Systems has used a proprietary universal battery design across the Xi range.
As standard, the new unit comes with hot-swappable five-year life batteries with a recharge cycle of less than four hours to 90% capacity.
A ten-year life battery is an option.
To allow for use in either horizontal rack-mount or vertical stand-alone applications, the unit's digital display unit can be rotated through 90 degrees.
The display provides information on a number of parameters including input voltage, output voltage and frequency, battery voltage and load.
As standard, the Xi 1500L is supplied with Xprotect software, and covers all Windows based platforms.
Xprotect offers all of the functionality of standard shutdown packages with some additional features for remote monitoring and control.
Monitoring is achieved locally via RS232 or remotely via a connected network.
Accessories include slot-in volt-free alarm contacts, USB interface and SNMP network adapters.
The unit is supplied with everything needed for immediate use including cable bundle, racking ears and a comprehensive instruction manual.
Like all Xi UPS systems, the new unit is rated to IP20 and is specified for use over the operating temperature range of 0 to 40C.
It also meets all current and appropriate EMC and safety requirements.
