Available now from XP, the DCN Series of high-efficiency open-frame DC/DC convertors carry a range of features and approvals which make them ideal for a variety of telecommunications applications.

These 15W convertors are supplied within the industry-standard 48 x 26mm (2 x 1in) PCB mounting footprint, have a low profile of 8.5mm, and are available with a range of popular single or dual output voltages.

Single output devices are available to supply 1.8, 2.5, 3.3 or 5V DC, while dual-output models supply 3.3V with either 2.5 or 5V DC, and all output voltages can be trimmed to 90-110% of their nominal ratings.

All devices have a wide 33-75V DC input range.

Efficiency is high for all models, ranging from 83 to 87%.

The convertors enjoy all the benefits of open-frame construction, including improved thermal management, contributing to a wide operating temperature range from -40 to +70degC.

Short-circuit protection is continuous, and overvoltage protection is provided by a non-latching clamp.

Ripple and noise are low, at 100 and 140mV peak-peak for single- and dual-output devices, respectively.

To facilitate their use in telecomms applications, DCN Series convertors are ETSI compliant, meeting ETS300 132-2 input voltage and current requirements.
