The PCM120 is billed as the world's smallest 120W high-efficiency AC/DC external power supply for medical applications.

The PCM120 is billed as the world's smallest 120W high-efficiency AC/DC external power supply for medical applications.

Measuring only 95 x 180 x 47mm, the single-output PCM120 features 4kV AC isolation (input to output) and a safety ground leakage current of less than 300uA at 240V AC.

Both line and neutral are fused and it is approved to international medical safety standards.

The power supply achieves 85% efficiency through using zero-voltage switching, so heat generation is minimised, and has integral power factor correction to EN61000-3-2.

Weight is approximately 860g.

The PCM120 addresses the growing need for compact, lightweight power supplies for increasingly powerful medical electronic systems.

It has a universal AC input, 90-264V AC at 47 to 63Hz, and output voltages are 12, 15, 18, 24 or 48V DC.

Output connection is via an 8-pin DIN plug, but other options are available to order.

Line and load regulation are +/-1 and +/-3%, respectively, and there is no minimum load requirement.

Ripple and noise are limited to a maximum of 100mV peak-to-peak.

The power supply has built-in overvoltage and overcurrent protection, operates with convection cooling in ambient temperatures from 0 to +60C with derating and meets all major international safety, EMC and ESD specifications.
