Supply boosts power density and
efficiency
A compact 150W AC/DC external power supply for portable equipment claims best-in-class performance at 5.1W/in3 power density and 88% minimum efficiency.
XP Power has announced a compact 150W AC/DC external power supply for portable equipment that claims best-in-class performance at 5.1W/in3 power density and 88% minimum efficiency Dubbed the AML150, the power supply is smaller than many lower power units of this type yet needs no internal or external fan to deliver full power at up to 40C ambient and 60% power at 70C

DC/DC convertors save PCB space
XP Power has released new additions to its I series of low power isolated DC/DC convertors.
It is also competitively priced against lower performance products.
Specifying this 150W unit will often provide the power headroom for designers to make future upgrades to their products without having to change the power supply.
Cool running contributes to reliability of greater than 100,000 hours (MIL-HDBK-217F) and the unit is suited to applications ranging from automation and industrial control to specialist portable equipment and communication systems.
The power supply has a universal AC input (90-264V AC) with active PFC to meet EN61000-3-2, -3 and a single output of 12, 15, 19, 20 or 24V DC.
It measures 171 x 72 x 40mm and is supplied with a 1.8m power cord terminated with a 4-pin DIN plug.
nonstandard output voltages and connectors are available.
The unit is fitted with an internal 4A fuse and offers overtemperature, overvoltage and overload protection as standard features.
The AML150 meets EN55022 Class B standards for radiated and conducted emissions and has the appropriate EN, UL and CSA safety approvals.
