Convertors are smaller than the norm
Maintaining the industry standard pinout makes the convertor an ideal drop-in replacement for existing designs.
Housed in a shielded package with dimensions of just 25.4 x 20.3 x 10.0mm, the JCA series of miniature board-mounted low-power DC/DC convertors from XP Power is 6.4mm shorter than the 31.8mm industry norm.
Using the customary 24-pin DIP layout, the units occupy 20% less printed circuit board area than traditional products.
This allows designers to reduce the size of new developments or add in more features, while maintaining the industry standard pinout makes the convertor an ideal drop-in replacement for existing designs.
The JCA series comprises 2, 3, 4 and 6W models, each offering a choice of four nominal input voltages of 5, 12, 24 and 48V DC.
Input options, covering a wide 2:1 voltage range, are 4.5-9.0, 9-18, 18-36 or 36-75V DC with undervoltage lockout as standard.
For each input voltage, single output models offer +3.3, +5, +12 or +15V DC outputs or the dual output versions provide +/-5, +/-12 or +/-15V DC.
Outputs are fully regulated, varying no more than +/-0.3% over all input conditions, and less than +/-1.0% across all load conditions.
The JCA series offer basic input to output isolation rated at 1500V DC and case to input or output is 500V DC.
Suitable for a wide variety of application environments, the convertors operate from -40 to +100C with derating above +75C.
No additional heatsinking or forced air cooling is required.
The maximum case temperature is +100C.
The series has EN, UL, CSA and CE safety approvals and meets EN55022-A for conducted emissions and EN55022-B for radiated emissions without any additional components.
The units carry a 3 year warranty and are available from stock and also through Farnell.
