Media card connector puts four in one
Yamaichi Electronics has expanded its FRS series with a combo four-in-one Flash card connector.
Yamaichi Electronics has expanded its FRS series with a combo four-in-one Flash card connector Like the FRS008-3001-0, the new FRS012-2000-0 also supports the xD picture card but omits the SmartMedia card
In turn, it has a push/push mechanism and a metal shield.
With its small form factor of 47 x 32.7 x 4.8mm the combo connector can be used in many applications, such as digital TVs, printers, card readers, notebooks, PDAs and other mobile applications while it features a card detect switch and a write-protect switch for SD cards.
The FRS012-2002-0 is designed so that only one card can be inserted at a time and the card lock position is common to all card types.
A variation for manual insertion and extraction is under construction.
