Yamaichi Electronics has added a range of rugged Profinet components to its Y-Con series which offers protection ratings of IP69K, IP68, IP67 and IP20 for various application environments.

Building on the success of Profibus, the Profinet standard is set to become one of the most important cabling standards for industrial automation applications.

Yamaichi Electronics has added a range of rugged Profinet components to its Y-Con series which offers protection ratings of IP69K, IP68, IP67 and IP20 for various application environments.

The four-stranded Profinet wire has a PUR sheathing for use in industrial environments and can withstand at least 1 million bending cycles when used in the drag chain.

It is specified for Cat5e and suitable for temperatures from -20 to +80C.

The Y-Con Profinet connector employs piercing contacts, and the mating face conforms to the RJ45 standard.

It can thereby be used with standard RJ45 jacks and is backwards compatible.

As an additional service Yamaichi also offers ready-made cable assemblies for industrial Profinet applications.
