The VT1200 Series has been developed to serve the needs of broadcasters and cable operators who, in anticipation of the widespread implementation of digital broadcasting, are building up their infrastructures, such as transmission and recording systems, and implementing new products to support the industry.
Patterns such as a colour bar are pre-installed and can be used immediately by pressing a 'select' button to access the pre-installed contents.
A simulated motion video playback feature is available for playing multiple frames consecutively, and is a useful feature for detecting screen freezes.
In addition, a 1kHz tone signal is included for use in checking audio.
The TS Maker software can be used to create original contents for transfer or for saving in the instrument's memory.
For example, the colour bar can be selected as the background and a station name can be superimposed.
Simply clicking the 'convert' button then creates a colour bar with the station name on it.
Both HDTV and SDTV formats are supported.
The VT1200 Series is extremely easy to use, with a 'select' button for selecting a pattern number and a 'play' button.
An external control function (contact input) is included to support integration within a broadcasting system.
The VT1200 Series has a through output function that allows broadcast data to be output directly, with the user being able to switch to internal contents if necessary.
The instrument monitors in real time for TS Sync Loss, PAT errors, and other errors input to the ASI input terminal.
If an error occurs, the user is alerted by LEDs on the front panel and by contact output on the rear panel.
Automatic time stamping includes PTS, DTS, PCR and a continuity counter, all of which are updated to allow continuous MPEG2-TS output free of discontinuities.
The instrument has a simulated motion video playback function for consecutive playback of multiple frames.
This feature facilitates troubleshooting and detection of any point where screen freeze has occurred.
