Software speeds radio testing
Four new software products simplify the testing of digital terrestrial broadcast and mobile WiMAX systems.
The Test and Measurement Division of Yokogawa Europe has introduced four new software products for testing digital terrestrial broadcast and mobile WiMAX (IEEE802.16e OFDMA) systems The new software comprises two signal analysis and two signal generation utilities, which are plug-ins for Yokogawa's existing multiformat OFDM analysis and generation software

Bluetooth analysis via the USB
At the Embedded Systems Show Yokogawa Martron is introducing a new Bluetooth analyser to complement its range of test and measurement tools for communications and bus protocol analysis.
The signal analysis software is typically used in combination with the Yokogawa VN7100 wideband modulation analyser, and the signal generation software is typically used in combination with the VB8300 baseband signal generator.
The DVB-T/H signal generation option generates DVB-T/H signals compliant to ETSI EN 300 744, and supports 2K, 4K, 8K modes as well as in-depth interleaving for DVB-H.
The DTV signal analysis option acquires waveform data from the VN7100 wideband modulation analyser via the instrument's Ethernet interface, or can also load waveform data from a CSV text file.
It carries out analysis on ISDB-T (terrestrial integrated services digital broadcasting) signals compliant to ARIB STD-B31 or STD-B29, and on DVB-T/H signals compliant to ETSI EN300 744.
Analysis functions include EVM (error vector measurement), simple BER (bit error rate) testing, CCDF (complementary cumulative distribution function) and spectrum analysis.
The IEEE802.16e OFDMA signal generation option generates OFDMA modulation signals that comply with IEEE802.16e-2005, and supports the OFDMA PHY, TDD/FDD, downlink PUSC zone, downlink FUSC zone and uplink PUSC zone specifications.
It carries out automatic generation of DL-MAP messages and UL-MAP messages, with automatic or manual allocation of zones in a burst.
The IEEE802.16e OFDMA signal analysis option can also acquire waveform data from the VN7100 wideband modulation analyser via Ethernet or from a CSV text file.
It analyses OFDMA signals compliant to IEEE 802.16e-2005, and supports the OFDMA PHY, TDD/FDD, downlink PUSC zone, downlink FUSC zone and uplink PUSC zone specifications.
The utility analyses DL-MAP messages and UL-MAP messages to determine burst structure and modulation type, and also carries out error vector measurements, bit error-rate testing, CCDF and spectrum analysis.
