Labs accredited for new medical EMC standard
The York EMC Services laboratories in Castleford (West Yorkshire) and Donibristle (Fife) are now UKAS accredited to EN60601-1-2:2001, the revised EMC standard for electromedical equipment.
Current developments will see this test also being offered at the Donibristle laboratory later in the year.
The YES laboratories are to become two of the first commercial EMC laboratories in the UK to be accredited for the operation of a flexible schedule.
The accreditation allows laboratories to take control of their UKAS schedules and to add new standards themselves, under their own responsibility, where the tests involved are already covered within the existing schedule.
The removal of the requirement to involve UKAS at the addition stage will further increase YES's ability to respond to customer requests in a shortened timescale.
