Nippon Chemi-Con's low-impedance MVZ range of chip electrolytic capacitors, available from sole UK agent, Young ECC can replace difficult to source tantalum capacitors in many applications.

Rated from 6.3 to 25V DC and from 4.7 to 1000uF, the capacitors come in standard case sizes ranging from 4.3 to 10.3mm2, and are between 5.5 and 10mm high.

In the D and E case sizes, they are only fractionally bigger than tantalum devices, but offer substantial cost savings.

More, improvements in aluminium chip electrolyte technology means that the MVZ devices exhibit similar life cycles to tantalum product.

Nippon Chemi-Con has developed its entire MVZ series aluminium chip capacitors to be fully compatible with surface mount processing.

Devices are strengthened to withstand high vibration, while vacuum handling has been facilitated by careful case construction and vent positioning.
