Low impedance capacitors take the heat
Specialist distributor, Young Electronics, has launched a new series of surface mount capacitors that boast low impedance and high heat capability.
The series, available in 100, 250 and 630V, uses nickel as the base metal for both internal and external electrodes which almost completely eliminates migration thereby guaranteeing high reliability.
Compared with alternative technologies, the series has higher breakdown voltages and lower equivalent series resistance (ESR) which minimises impedances at higher frequencies as well as reducing power loss and heat generation.
The MLCCs provide a selection of four capacitance values in 0805, 1206, 1210 and 1812 case sizes.
Currently offering capacitance values/voltage range combinations of 0.1-1uF at 100V and 0.01-0.1uF at 250V, the CG series is under development and a wider range of combinations will be available throughout 2003.
Operating temperature ratings are available from -55 to +125C.
