Radial lead capacitors copy surface
mount success
The Nippon Chemi-Con PSA series of radial lead capacitors uses the same materials and design principles as the surface mount PXA series.

Low impedance capacitors take the heat
Specialist distributor, Young Electronics, has launched a new series of surface mount capacitors that boast low impedance and high heat capability.
The conductive polymer results in capacitors with a greater resonant frequency than those made from materials such as tantalum and with liquid electrolytes.
With a rated voltage range of 205-16V DC, the capacitors function for 2kh hours at 105C.
The capacitance change following this test was less than 20% of the initial rated value and the ESR was less than 150% of the original value.
Similar results were achieved when the capacitors were subjected to 1000 cycles with the surge voltage specified at 105C for 30s and a discharge of 5min and 30s.
The capacitance range is 47-1000uF.
The PSA radial lead series is designed for use on DC/DC convertors, voltage regulators and decoupling applications on computer motherboards.
