Low impedance capacitors take the heat
Specialist distributor, Young Electronics, has launched a new series of surface mount capacitors that boast low impedance and high heat capability.
Its compact size allows for simple and fast installation.
This ease of connection also ensures there is no need for auxiliary circuits.
As well as high efficiencies, the NVD-SC series has a wide input voltage range, from 12 to 48V and output currents of up to 22A.
Power density is 20W/cm3.
Advanced topology ensures there is no need for an additional heatsink or fan and the low operation temperature guarantees a very high meat time between failures.
The convertors operate at 100% load over a temperature range from -10 to +50C, and between +50 and +71C output current decreases by 3.5%/C.
Overcurrent and overvoltage protection is built in through the use of a time latch.
The series meets safety standards UL60950 and C-UL: CSA C22.2 No950.
