Varactors fit low voltage systems

A Zetex product story

Offering a tuning range from 0.5 to 2.5V, the ZV950 series of hyperabrupt varactor diodes from Zetex are designed to meet the needs of 3V frequency control and filtering systems.

Characterised by close tolerance C/V curves, the varactors provide high Q operation at a reverse voltage as low as 0.5V.

Typically 10pA, the low reverse leakage current of these devices ensures excellent phase noise performance.

Three low voltage varactors have been launched in the miniature SOD523 package.

For a bias voltage of 0.5V and frequency of 1MHz, nominal capacitances of the ZV950, ZV952 and ZV953 are 9.5, 19 and 45pF, respectively.

Where close tuner diode matching is required, Zetex has also introduced a dual common-cathode variant.

With the same characteristics as the ZV953, the ZMDC953 offers two low voltage varactors in a single SOT323 package.

The ZV950 series varactors suit crystal oscillator temperature stabilising circuits, the loop and filter sections of phase lock loops and any product design containing frequency control and filtering functions.
