Bipolars deliver more power from a
smaller space
The latest addition to the Zetex MPPS range of miniature package power solutions is a complete series of bipolar transistors giving designers the opportunity to increase current handling threefold.
The latest addition to the Zetex MPPS range of miniature package power solutions is a complete series of bipolar transistors giving designers the opportunity to increase current handling by a factor of 300% Provided in Zetex micro leaded packages (MLPs), the Bipolar MPPS products offer a real power dissipation three times greater than that of alternative surface-mount-packaged devices

Power devices qualify for automotive duties
Monitors, regulators and references meet the requirements of AEC-Q100 Grade 1 for operation in automotive environments at temperatures up to 125C.
The 3 x 2mm MLP accommodates dual die and occupies the same PCB area as a single-die SOT23 package; the 2 x 2mm MLP supports a single die and takes the same space as the SOT323 package.
Providing improvements in both VCE(SAT) and gain, 18 high efficiency MPPS bipolar transistors have been released in the two MLP formats.
In single die there are four NPN and four PNP devices, in dual die there are three NPN and three PNP transistor pairs along with four mixed polarity combinations.
Of significance to addon card design and flat screen applications, the 0.9mm off-board height of both MLP packages is considerably less than that of the SC59 package (1.3mm) and the SOT23 (1.1mm).
When replacing much larger SOT89 and SOT223 packages, there is also a weight saving to be made.
