Power devices qualify for automotive duties
Monitors, regulators and references meet the requirements of AEC-Q100 Grade 1 for operation in automotive environments at temperatures up to 125C.
Rectifier controller makes MOSFETs behave
Zero point detector driver allows designers to replace lossy Schottky diodes with surface mount MOSFETs for improved efficiency in power supply designs.
To help reduce external component count, both new convertors include a 30V rated NDMOS switch and a peak current sensor and can generate an output current of up to 10mA at the maximum output voltage.
An internal PWM filter ensures the output is flicker free.
The use of miniature, low profile packaging means the PCB space requirements are kept to the absolute minimum.
The ZXLD1601 is supplied in the 2.1 x 2.0 x 1.1mm SC70 and the ZXLD1615 in the 3.1 x 3.2 x 1.0mm TSOT23-5.
The maximum convertor output voltage is set by an internal resistor network, and is readily adjusted to a lower value using an external resistor network, a PWM control signal applied to the enable pin, or a combination of the two.
By reducing the output voltage, an output current of up to 50mA is attainable.
A highly efficient DC/DC convertor solution, these latest additions to the ZXLD product family achieve a typical efficiency of 85%.
To help to further extend the battery life of portable equipment, both convertors consume a very low standby current of 60uA and in addition, feature a shutdown function that reduces this current to less than 100nA in the off state.
The price of the ZXLD1615 through distributors is $0.53 in quantities of 1000 and the price of the ZXLD1601 through distributors is $0.65 in quantities of 1000.
