Schottky aims to extend battery life

A Zetex product story

With typical and maximum reverse current ratings at 30V of 1 and 4uA, respectively, the ZLLS350 Schottky barrier diode helps extend battery life in a broad range of applications.

With typical and maximum reverse current ratings at 30V of 1 and 4uA, respectively, the ZLLS350 Schottky barrier diode from Zetex Semiconductors helps extend battery life in a broad range of applications, from chargers to LED drivers.

This characteristic, combined with a very low forward voltage - specified at a typical of 380mV for a forward current of 30mA - means this miniature, SOD523 device offers an efficiency superior to that of much larger packaged devices.

The 40V rated ZLLS350 also has an increased maximum permissible operating temperature.

Often a limitation of Schottky devices, this latest Zetex part takes the temperature specification from 125C up to 150C.

Current handling is high too, with continuous forward current quoted at 380mA.

The Schottky's 1.7 x 0.9mm footprint will help in the quest to reduce board size, and its 0.8mm off-board height will comfortably address any height restrictions.

With 100% matte tin plated external pins, the ZLLS350 is designated lead-free and is supplied in 3000- and 10,000-unit tape and reel.

The price of the ZLLS350 low leakage Schottky diode is US $0.125 in quantities of 10,000.
