The company had been researching potential digital amplifier designs for many years, but until it evaluated the Zetex Acoustar devices last autumn it had been unable to identify a sufficiently developed control technology to realise the level of performance its engineers were demanding.
Since then the two companies have been working together to develop and refine the technology.

The Virtu Power DAC is a seven channel 150W full digital power amplifier developed on the strengths of the Zetex Acoustar processing technology.
The full 32bit datapath, high 1MHz modulation frequency and ZTA digital filter combine to form the foundation for Theta's development of this outstanding amplifier.
