In the category of processors, to win the award, Zilog's eZ80Acclaim! outperformed products from other major semiconductor suppliers including Hitachi, Texas Instruments and Intel.
The eZ80Acclaim! family was recognised as processor of the year due to innovative integration and cost effective performance.
The feature set includes: a 50MHz Ez80 core, an embedded Ethernet MAC, on chip Flash memory of up to 256Kbyte, a PLL, a TCP/IP stack, and a 24bit address bus that provides 16Mbyte of linear address.
Zilog's President, Mike Burger, expressed his delight in receiving the award: "It's an honour for Zilog to receive this prestigious award.
