Frugal IrDA transceivers can stay on all the time
ZiLog has released the first devices in its new UltraSlim IrDA transceiver family designed to bring always-on, always power-efficient infra-red connectivity to compact portable systems.
"Our site is now a one-stop shop for design engineers and we want them to find what they need within just a couple of mouse clicks.
The enhanced search engine and categorisation capabilities provide customers with a much more intuitive and effective website experience", said Roy Douglass, Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Zilog.
"The new search engine and categorisation technology, combined with a complete navigation overhaul and other site enhancements will allow visitors to find exactly what they need from our large product portfolio, and the associated development tools and documentation".
The new search technology bridges both structured and unstructured data across Zilog's website to provide users access to all data, including product information, news releases and customer support documentation, from a single search.
Zilog's goal is to empower users to search at a granular level for a precise piece of information or document.
Search results are more comprehensive and matched to the needs of the user.
"This website is great - easy to use, and very intuitive", said Brock Kolls, Sr VP R and D at USA Technologies.
"I especially liked the technical support as I had access to the incidents and issues my engineers are working on.
This knowledge sharing and team approach to technical support mirrors the real world team design and development environments that most of us work in.
This really helps when you have multiple projects and highly constrained time and resources".
Zilog is the first semiconductor manufacturer to implement Endeca's search technology, which has already been embraced by a number of catalogue sales sites for its ability to quickly and accurately search large quantities of data and present search results in a usable format.
Other features include the ability to generate read-only memory code from the website, easy access to online technical support, and direct access to Zilog's distributors.
Zilog maintains an intense focus on satisfying customer needs and will continue to upgrade its website with additional content, functions and features.
