Zilog has developed a new version of ZTP, its integrated, pre-emptive multitasking OS and TCP/IP protocol software suite.

Zilog has developed a new version of ZTP, its integrated, pre-emptive multitasking OS and TCP/IP protocol software suite.

ZTP represents a complete embedded networking solution offering standard network connectivity across a wide range of applications, such as industrial control, automation, facility management, IP appliances and remote systems communication.

As with earlier releases of ZTP, the latest Version 1.4 is optimised for embedded systems and works in conjunction with Zilog's award-winning eZ80Acclaim! family of devices, which includes the eZ80F91, eZ80F92 and eZ800F93 microcontrollers and the eZ80190 and eZ80L92 microprocessors.

This software product is powered by Zilog's RZK real-time kernel and offers full-feature operating systems services in addition to network services and takes up little program memory.

ZTP 1.4 provides either the industry standard socket interface or a native RZK Application Programming Interfaces (API) for user applications to access TCP/IP services, all under user control.

Such easy-to-use APIs will accelerate development time for network programmers already familiar with the socket interface.

Alternatively, new TCP/IP programmer can leverage the native RZK APIs to shorten the learning process and design cycle.

In addition, an internal mapping layer maintains a set of backwards-compatible APIs to previous versions of ZTP.

Available immediately, ZTP V1.4 object-code package can be downloaded free of charge by all registered customers of eZ80Acclaim! MCU products.

The ZTP V1.4 source code package is available for purchase at $1995.
