Zirkon has invested GBP 430,000 in additional surface mount technology to increase the company's production capacity.

Zirkon has invested GBP 430,000 in additional surface mount technology to increase the company's production capacity.

The investment combines a sixth surface mount machine, an ERSA oven and DEK printer into an additional production line.

This has allowed Zirkon to increase its production capacity by a further 21,000 components per hour, providing greater flexibility to meet customers needs.

Further capital investment by Zirkon is also expected within the next six months.

The latest investment follows the completion of a comprehensive market analysis and brand audit by Zirkon.

In direct response to the stated and implied needs and issues of its current and target customers, a complete overhaul, including rebranding and repositioning of the company is in progress.

Zirkon Director, Tony Inskip said: "We have been working with many of our customers since the early stages of their product design and development, and we have expanded our operations to accommodate their growth, and that of prospective customers.

Our customers have found that other contract electronics manufacturing companies appear unable to offer Zirkon's range of services.

This is where Zirkon demonstrates its flexibility, which is a quality that is in demand in the current climate".

He added: "Our latest investment in technology comes at an exciting time for Zirkon.

With existing customers looking to increase volumes and several of our new customers introducing virtual manufacturing, Zirkon's range of services provide a more economical way for them to run their business.

This investment is all about providing our customers with better solutions".
