Award for stairlift remote control
Zirkon has received a supplier excellence award at the Stannah Supplier Conference 2004 for helping to enhance the stairlifts' features and reliability.
Zirkon has received a supplier excellence award at the Stannah Supplier Conference 2004 for helping to enhance the stairlifts' features and reliability.
Key to Zirkon's success was the introduction of a new radio system based on the 868/916MHz frequency, which has helped Stannah to increase the range on its control unit and significantly reduce costs.
Tony Inskip, Director at Zirkon, said: "We have worked with Stannah for over six years and this award is testament to a successful working relationship between the two companies".
"During the development of the 868/916MHz frequency model we worked very closely with Stannah's engineers to ensure that it met the company's specifications".
"We also ensured that we used the latest technology, coupled with the latest chips from Chipcon to achieve this".
"Zirkon has continually worked with Stannah to change the design of the stairlift to improve performance yield, reliability and consistency of the radio link in the control unit and we look forward to continuing our relationship with them in the future".
Tim Eagles of Stannah Stairlifts added: "The accolade presented to Zirkon reinforces our belief in the company's commitment to quality, reliability and in their ability to provide Stannah with expert advice and the best in RF capabilities".
"The new frequency helps us to provide our customers with an increased reach for the control unit".
"As it also means that fewer components are used to improve the range, it helps us to continue to be cost efficient".
Zirkon, based in Rugby, has been offering a full range of design, development, manufacture, test and logistics solutions for the electronics industry since 1976.
The company was first awarded a Stannah supplier award in 2001 and was a finalist in two categories at the Electronics Industry Design Awards (EIDA) awards in 2003 for its work with Stannah.
