Part of the restructuring effort involves a reduction of the company's headcount by approximately 5% of its 1000 employees worldwide.
The reduction in duplicate administrative staff functions and the restructuring of some development will not have an impact on the company's core product development, sales or customer service teams in Europe.
Zuken Europe will increasingly support its global activities through tighter cooperation with its global support team in Japan.
The company will continue to market its Hot-Stage, Cadstar, CR-5000, Cabling Designer, Visula, and Engineering Information Systems (EIS) solutions, as well as its services and support through existing channels and VARs in Europe.
"Our business in Europe has remained steady in the past years and is forecast to grow.
For 2003 our focus is to deliver a clear strategy to our current and future customers.
Highly focused teams will provide high-speed design solutions, product and component data management systems, as well as consulting support.
These changes will enable us to better customise our solutions to meet our customers' specific needs", commented Gerhard Lipski, General Manager European Operations, Zuken.
