To support the dialogue between the industry and politics - and to offer early insights into future requirements of the European environmental policy - ZVEI has organised a conference on European environmental policy on 16th September in Stuttgart.
Component manufacturers are directly affected by regulations such as the Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE), Directive on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances (RoHS), End of Life Vehicles (ELV) and Eco-Design of Energy Using Products (EuP).
Future environmental political requirements in combination with tough global competition impose big challenges for many enterprises.
The future concepts and strategies of the European environmental policy will strongly influence the position the European electronics industry can achieve on a global level The conference will feature high-ranking speakers from politics and industry - including Rolf Annerberg, DG Environment, Head of Cabinet, European Commission - giving insight into their strategies and requirements.
It aims to draw companies' attention to future environmental challenges and to initiate a continuous dialogue between industry and policy makers.
