Touchscreens stand up to the rigours of the pub
Sound Leisure, a company that specialises in commercial digital jukebox technologies, has chosen to implement Zytronic touchscreen technology into it's latest free-standing and wall-mounted products.
Zytronic's Zytouch sensing technology is ideally suited to indoor and outdoor public access kiosk applications in industries ranging from retail, hospitality, gaming and travel services.
Zytronic's Zytouch touchscreens feature a proprietary 'projected capacitive' sensing technology that does not require the kiosk user to make direct contact with the touch sensor.
The technology uses microfine wires that are embedded within a toughened laminate, which maximises light transmission characteristics and offers enhanced protection against accidental or malicious threats.
Users of Zytouch-based applications can also operate the touchscreen with a gloved hand.
Zytronic designs its own technologies and has a state-of-the-art, ISO-approved manufacturing facility.
In addition, the method of touchscreen manufacture ensures that no sealing is needed to ensure that the sensor remains unaffected by moisture and rain, solvents, harsh cleaning fluids, grease, dirt, scratches and other surface damage.
The addition of the Zytouch projected capacitive touchscreens will complement Elo's existing product lines, enabling it to offer the broadest range of touch technologies in the industry.
Commenting on the agreement, Ian Lawson, Chief Executive of Zytronic, says: "Elo TouchSystems has firmly established itself as the premier touch company.
The new agreement ensures access to a comprehensive, global distribution network and ensures that worldwide customers have local support for, and access to our Zytouch technology".
Mark Mendenhall, President Elo TouchSystems, says: "The addition of projected capacitive touchscreens is complementary to Elo's existing touch technologies and expands Elo's comprehensive product offering to enhance our position as the leader in touch technology.
Elo's 30 years of experience and market leadership in touch technology will further enhance this unique projected capacitive technology from Zytronic".
Zytronic's private label agreement with Elo TouchSystems supersedes a previous distribution agreement with 3M Touch Systems.
