?Crossconnects?

An Electronicstalk guide

Start with the news release Digital PLLs claim carrier-class performance from Zarlink Semiconductor, which we summarised at the time by saying "Two new digital PLLs for timing cards enable carrier-class reliability and performance in proprietary and standardised networking system architectures, including H.110 and Advanced TCA.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Crossconnect covers Cat 6 cables from AMP Netconnect: "The new AMP Netconnect 610XC Category 6 crossconnect system uses an innovative shielding technique to provide a high level of performance in the same footprint as standard crossconnects.".

In August 2003, we covered the news from Molex UK - take a look at Backplane speeds differential pairs which says: "Engineers can achieve up to 5.0Gbit/s bandwidth per signal pair with the launch of the new VHDM-HSD 6-row module-to-backplane connector system from Molex.".

Take a look also at the news release from EXFO Electro-Optical Engineering, Transceiver takes on protocol layer testing, as well as Ethernet blade has all three rates covered from Apcon, and Crossconnect grooms metro networks from PMC-Sierra.
